G’Day,
Yesterday I went to see a Dr for a second opinion about my knee. Referred there by the famous work cover corporation, I had to sign a form saying that he was not going to hurt or treat me he was just doing a review for W/c. Well everything went pretty smoothly until he started checking my knee’s that’s when he started to cause pain by pushing my kneecap down towards my ankle then asking me to pull them back up to where they were supposed to be. What these Dr’s don’t relize is that even though they are doing a job for a corporation that is supposed to be helping me and others return to a normal sort of life is that in the process they actually impede the rehabilitation process by causing pain and therefore a setback in the healing progression. If I was paying for such brutality I would have gone to a free for all fight club whre I could have had the crap beaten out of me and might have got a few in in retaliation. The whole thing sucks and the continuing pain just walking around home is no fun. I now have to wait for “his Review” to be sent to W/c to find out what his prognosis is for my life in the short term ‘coz whatever he says in his report W/c will (I hope?) take to heart (if they even have one!).
This is not the first time I have had a major injury at work nor the first visit to an “independent” Doctor to be reviewed for the insurance company who is supposed to be looking after my welfare and rehab’. When I had the previous injury which was a major back fusion in the L4/5, L5/S1 done in June 1995, caused by picking up a Jack hammer at work. “They” sent me for several “examinations” by so called “independent” Dr’s to acertain whether I was ttrying to pull the wool over their eyes so to speak, all to no avail as I have rights as to what they are allowed to do to my body when they perform these tests. I’m no stranger to pain or the processes & tactics they use to try & undermine the real cases from the bogus ones. But should it get to the point of having to use the law to resolve this situation then I will use it to the utmost.
I hope this Dr who is doing the review will do the right and just thing and recommend that W/c sends me to get the operation done on my knee to fix it, fingers crossed…..
The results should be in tomorrow so I will endeavour to get a copy and discuss them after that.

Off to the surgeon

Today is the day when I find out about whether the Dr is going to be nice to me and let me know if he reckons that I should have my Knee fixed up which I think it should be or if he actually works for workcover and is going to favour the side of the insurance company and crap to me saying that there is nothing wrong with my knee!!!!!
Two Drs and 3 Physio’s think that there should be a reconstruction of the ACL and clean up the meniscus in there and I should have already been in &out of hospital having had it repiared. But workcover in its infinite wisdom requested a second opinion from this Dr who I am seeing in a few hours from now. I am a bit jack of the whole thing as it has been 3 months since I injured the right knee at work and 9 weeks since the op on that one, if I had not collapsed when I got out of bed one morning in late october then my Left knee would not have this crap going on inside it and I’d be able to have a relatively pian free life. But any way thy Will be done today!!
